Microneedling, also known as Collagen Induction Therapy, is a clinically proven, minimally invasive skin treatment that enhances collagen and elastin production by creating controlled micro-injuries in the skin using fine, sterile needles.

Unlike traditional rolling methods, we use a unique vertical stamping technique that ensures precise, clean needle entry with minimal trauma to the skin. Answers to frequently asked questions:

• Does the facial include a peel?

Where suited to the skin an enzyme peel is included into the facial for a superior exfoliation and skin rejuvenation boost.

• What should I do after I have had my facial?

We advise for you to leave all the facial finishing products on the skin overnight, this will help the enhancement of the products as you sleep. Refrain from direct sunlight for at least 24 hours after your facial.  Your therapist will advise if you need to remove any product prior to going to bed.

• What aftercare products can I use after a facial?

To enhance the results of your facial treatment, we advise you apply use the CSA philosophy as part of your aftercare – Vitamin C, Sunscreen in the day, Vitamin A in the evening.

• Must wait 5 days after finishing taking the following medications before having a Dermalux Treatment:

Antibiotics – Tetracycline, Doxycycline, Norfloxacin, Ofloxacin, Nalidixic acid, Minocycline, Oxytetracycline, Demeclocycline, Lymecycline, Sulfonamides. Medication (Methotrexate) used for Chemotherapy, Rheumatoid Arthritis and Psoriasis. Haloperidol, Chlorpromazine, Trifluoperazine, Amiodarone, Isotretinoin, Roaccutane.

• Dermalux can not be carried out if taking the following medications:

Auranofin or Azathioprine (Anti-Arthritic medication)

When taking Naproxen or Celecoxib (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medication) there may be a need for more Dermalux treatments to achieve desired results.

• Can I have a Dermalux treatment while pregnant?

No. Unfortunately, due to Dermalux not being  tested on pregnant people the risk to the pregnancy is unknown. However, the treatment can be carried out when breastfeeding.

• Is there an age restriction for Dermalux?

No. Any person under the age of 16 years of age requires parental consent and must be accompanied by a parental guardian during the treatment.

• Will Dermalux work on all people?

Great results can be achieved from the Dermalux Flex treatment however, clients who smoke, use sunbeds or have regular sun exposure are advised additional treatments may be required to achieve optimum results.

• What will my skin feel and look like after Microneedling?
• You can expect skin to look red and slightly swollen immediately after the treatment. Everyone is different with downtime however, most clients reddening is reduce if not completely gone within the first 24 hours. After this there may be a few days of dry looking areas. All of this is completely normal.

To ensure your treatment is safe, suitable, and beneficial, please read the following to ensure it is safe and suitable for you. For your comfort, safety, and well-being, treatments cannot be carried out under the following conditions:

• Current or recent history of miscarriage or pregnancy complications

• Bacterial infections, such as impetigo, conjunctivitis, or boils

• Viral infections, including herpes simplex (cold sores) and warts

• Presence of a high temperature or fever

• If you are under the influence of alcohol or drugs

• Fungal infections, such as ringworm

• Parasitic conditions, including scabies and pediculosis (lice)

• Diagnosed systemic medical conditions that may compromise your health during treatment

• Medical clearance may be required if you have a high-risk pregnancy or any underlying health conditions.

• We cannot perform treatment if you are experiencing nausea, dizziness, or any pregnancy-related complications on the day of your appointment.

• Please avoid booking if you have undiagnosed pain, swelling, or unusual symptoms – consult your midwife or GP first.

• Treatments cannot go ahead if you have pre-eclampsia, gestational diabetes (uncontrolled), deep vein thrombosis, or severe varicose veins.

• Severe skin conditions, including inflamed psoriasis or eczema

• Eye Infections (treatment can be avoided on face area)

• Uncontrolled acne (depending on treatment type)

• Diabetes, unless well managed and approved by your GP

• Recent surgery on the face or neck (within 6 months unless cleared by a GP)

• Botox or dermal filler treatments within the last 3 weeks

Restrictions of Prenatal Treatment 

The following conditions do not prevent treatment but may require adjustments, extra care, or avoidance of certain areas during your appointment. Please inform us if any of the following apply to you:

• Recent scar tissue – treatment will avoid the area until fully healed

• Eczema or psoriasis – treatment may be adapted depending on severity and flare-ups

• Hyper-keratosis

• Skin allergies or sensitivities

• Arthritis (hips, neck, back, etc.) – treatment will be adapted for comfort and mobility

• Cysts or warts – treatment will avoid affected areas

Prenatal Treatment Aftercare 

To make the most of your treatment and support your body’s natural processes, please follow the guidance below. These steps can enhance the benefits of your treatment and promote your overall well-being:

• Drink plenty of water or herbal tea to stay hydrated and help flush out toxins.

• Avoid caffeine and alcohol for the rest of the day, as they can dehydrate the body.

• Eat light, nourishing meals, fresh fruits, vegetables, and lean proteins are ideal. Try to limit red meat, processed foods, and refined sugars.

• Allow yourself time to rest – avoid strenuous activity and listen to your body.

• Avoid heat treatments such as hot baths, saunas, steam rooms, or direct sun exposure for at least 24 hours.

• Avoid heavy meals straight after your treatment, to keep digestion light and comfortable.

• Keep the treated areas warm to prevent any muscle stiffness and support circulation.

• Stay off your feet where possible, especially if you are experiencing swelling in your legs or ankles.

• Gentle movement, like a short walk, avoid intense exercise for the remainder of the day.

• You may feel emotional, tired, or sleepy following treatment, this is completely normal. Be kind to yourself and rest if needed.
